Description
This Magnum Research Desert Eagle Mark I is an early Israeli-made example chambered in .357 Magnum. Manufactured by Israel Military Industries (IMI) for Magnum Research, the .357 Magnum Mark I was the original production version of the Desert Eagle and predates the later Mark VII and Mark XIX generations. The pistol is clearly marked “Desert Eagle .357 Magnum Pistol – Israel Military Industries Ltd.” and “Magnum Research Inc. Minneapolis Minn. – Made in Israel.”
This example is particularly interesting because of its low serial number, 5382. The pistol displays the characteristic early Mark I features, including the distinctive teardrop-style safety lever and original-pattern controls. American Rifleman identifies those features, along with the early barrel configuration, as distinguishing characteristics of the Mark I.
Finished in black with the classic full-size Desert Eagle profile, this example remains in good used condition with visible handling and finish wear consistent with age. One magazine is pictured. For a collector looking for an early Israeli-production Desert Eagle rather than a current-production example, the low serial number adds meaningful interest.
